Terms and conditions

Tickets

• All seats are fully reserved and must be booked and paid for in advance. SRPS Railtours endeavours to fulfil specific seating requests subject to availability and reserve the right to charge an additional supplement for selected seating requests.

• A reservation confirmation will be provided for all bookings by email. In the case a customer does not have an email address then a postal confirmation will be provided.

• Provisional times are only a guide and when booking you accept that these may differ from the final times. SRPS Railtours will endeavour to send the final times with your ticket, normally about a week before the date of the tour however if this is not possible subsequent communication will be made.

• Part Fares and any reduced fares are at the discretion of SRPS Railtours.

Cancellation & Refunds

• We request all cancellation requests are made in writing via post or email to avoid communication errors.

• We reserve the right to charge £10 administrative fee for any cancellations.

• Refund requests will be issued in accordance with the following scale for day excursions, expressed as a percentage of the total value of the booking:

1. – 90% over 41 days before the date of travel;

2. – 50% between 30 and 40days before the date of travel;

3. – No refund will be issued within 30 days of date of travel.

• Refunds will be issued via a credit note for future SRPS Railtours excursions.

• If an excursion is cancelled by SRPS Railtours a full refund will be made, but no other liability shall be incurred.

• SRPS Railtours will accept requests to transfer existing bookings (subject to availability) onto similar trains, prior to 30 days before travel. An administration fee of £10 will be charged.

Restrictions

• SRPS Railtours reserves the right to refuse access to, or remove from the train, any persons who are considered to be using inappropriate or abusive behaviour affecting the safety of the train and its passengers, spoiling the enjoyment for other passengers on the train, or failing to comply with any reasonable requests made by a member of the train staff.

• Registered guide dogs are welcome on our trains however no other pets of animals of any kind are accepted for travel. Please advise us in advance of travel to ensure SRPS Railtours can make the necessary provision for the wellbeing of the dog.

• Bicycle are not permitted  

• All our trains operate on a strict ‘No Smoking’ policy in compliance with UK Law.

• All luggage and personal belongings are carried at your own risk and SRPS Railtours accepts no liability for any loss or damage.

• On weekend tours, passengers are responsible for booking their own accommodation and the conveyance of their luggage between the train and hotels.

• SRPS Railtours cannot be held liable for any missed connections or non-use of tickets.

• Please allow plenty of time to reach your joining station and, if appropriate, sufficient time to park your car and make your way to the correct platform to join the train.

Complaints

• If you have any issues during your journey please bring them to the attention of one of the SRPS Railtours stewards or the Train Manager so that there is an opportunity to rectify the situation. If the problem is not resolved to your satisfaction then please put your complaint in writing via email to SRPS Railtours no later than 10 days after your date of travel.

Locomotives and Itineraries

• All information about our tours are offered in good faith and while SRPS Railtours will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the train runs as planned, SRPS Railtours does not accept any responsibility for delays, mishaps or alterations or curtailment of the tour arising from situations outwith its control. In the event of curtailment SRPS Railtours will source transportation of customers to their joining stations.

• Every effort will be made to ensure that the advertised route, locomotive(s), coaching stock, timings and other particulars will be as advertised . Please note that SRPS Railtours reserve the right to alter these at any time due to circumstances outside the Company’s control and as a consequence shall not incur any liability for any such alterations.

• SRPS Railtours will use its best efforts to ensure the advertised Steam locomotives run as scheduled however this can not be guaranteed and the locomotive may be substituted at last minute due to issues out with the control of SRPS Railtours.

Safety

• It is a condition of travel that passengers do not lean out or hold anything (e.g. cameras, phones, tablets, etc.) out of any train window at any time. Anyone caught window hanging will be removed from the train at the next safe location and banned from future SRPS Railtours.

• All child (Junior) tickets (under 16) must be accompanied by a fare paying adult.

Wheelchairs & Mobility

• Due to the use of heritage coaching stock, we currently do not have the facility for wheelchair boarding. Please contact our phone line to arrange boarding assistance if required.

• We are unable to convey motorised buggies or wheelchairs at any time.

Dining

• Meals are provided to a set menu and must be booked in advance.

• We are able to cater to special dietary requirements with the exception of Gluten Free due to restrictions in the kitchen.

• All special dietary requirements and food allergies must be communicated at the time of booking to ensure we are able to cater to the request.
